April 12, 20230

Type: Legislation

The Japanese government has recently issued a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding the implementation of the e-invoicing standard, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 International (PINT), which will be effective from October 1, 2023.

The adoption of this standard is in line with Japan’s new qualified invoice regime, which is crucial for determining the deductibility of Consumption Tax invoices. With the Peppol standard in place, Japanese taxpayers will be able to exchange e-invoices using the ‘JP PINT’ format via the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (Peppol) network.

Effective date: 1 October 2023
