Denmark goes digital in accounting & taxation

Type: Legislation

Denmark will introduce digital bookkeeping requirements covering mandatory e-invoicing. This new obligation will come into force in January 2024.

Since July 2022, a new Danish bookkeeping law that mandates the use of digital bookkeeping systems has been officially in effect. However, most of the new law’s primary duties are not anticipated to take effect until at least January 2024.

As the majority of businesses now use digital accounting software, the upcoming modifications are not entirely groundbreaking. Nonetheless, it will be necessary to adapt ERP systems to specific standards.

Effective date: January 2024
